Chinese Basketball Teams Disqualified from Playoffs for Match-Fixing

Two Chinese Basketball Association teams have been suspended from the playoffs after being found guilty of match-fixing. The Shanghai Sharks and Jiangsu Dragons were both fined approximately $727,000, while the general managers and coaches of the teams received harsher penalties. The Sharks head coach was banned from registering as a basketball coach for five years, while the Dragons head coach was banned for three years. Chinese basketball teams disqualified from playoffs for match-fixing allegations.

The Shanghai Sharks and Jiangsu Dragons have been disqualified from the Chinese Basketball Association playoffs and fined for match-fixing. The head coaches and general managers of both teams have been banned for three-to-five years. The Sharks were accused of "giving up" in the second half of Game 2 so that ex-NBA star Eric Bledsoe would only miss one quarterfinal match if the team won Game 3. The Dragons committed five consecutive turnovers in the final two minutes of the game which helped the Sharks mount a 10-0 comeback win to advance to the semifinals.
