Researchers at the University of Córdoba have developed a new design for a plasma reactor that significantly increases the generation of active species in water, allowing for the rapid destruction of high concentrations of dyes such as methylene blue. By altering the design of the surfatron, the device that mixes energy with the plasma, the researchers have created a more efficient plasma that generates oxidizing species capable of degrading organic compounds and killing microorganisms, expanding the applicability of this type of plasma for water remediation.
