Concacaf has renamed its men's club championship to "Concacaf Champions Cup" and increased the prize pool to $5 million, more than five times the amount distributed during the most recent CCL. The revamped tournament will feature 27 teams and a single-game final on a weekend. At least five and as many as 10 MLS teams can potentially qualify for the tournament. Seattle Sounders will be the only MLS team to have won the tournament, previously known as the CONCACAF Champions League.
