Norovirus Confirmed as Cause of Illness Among CCSU Students
Central Connecticut State University officials have confirmed that students who experienced gastrointestinal symptoms last month were affected by norovirus, not food poisoning. The university took immediate action to increase cleaning and restricted access to certain areas on campus. The Hilltop Café dining hall was temporarily closed as a precautionary measure. Less than 10 people tested positive for norovirus, and all affected students have since recovered. No new cases have been reported, and extra cleaning will continue on campus. Health officials recommend frequent handwashing and avoiding food preparation if experiencing gastrointestinal symptoms.
