"Arzette: The Jewel of Faramore - A Charming Homage to Retro Gaming"

Arzette: The Jewel of Faramore for Nintendo Switch pays homage to the infamous CD-i Zelda games, featuring faithful nods to the CD-i era in its visuals, cutscenes, and soundtrack. While the game offers a solid platforming experience, it may not resonate with players unfamiliar with the CD-i references, and it has some issues with non-linear progression and unexpected pitfalls. "Arzette: The Jewel of Faramore - A Charming Homage to Nintendo's Worst Games"

Arzette: The Jewel of Faramore for PS5 successfully captures the charm of the notoriously bad Zelda CD-i games, with poorly animated cutscenes and repetitive gameplay. Fan-made Game Boy remake breathes new life into Zelda's infamous CD-i game.

Indie developer John Lay has remade the 1994 CD-i game "Zelda's Adventure" for Game Boy, in the style of "Link's Awakening". Lay's version is available to play in-browser or on original Game Boy hardware and took him around 14 months to develop. The game incorporates features from other Zelda games and is a curious footnote in the series' history.

Developed over 14 months, the game is a complete port of the original and includes music composed by Beatscribe. The fan game is available to play on a Game Boy emulator or in-browser, and is probably the best way to experience the odd and barely remembered piece of Nintendo ephemera. The developer has no plans to demake the other two Zelda CD-i games.

Zelda's CDi game gets a Game Boy makeover.

A fan developer has ported the notoriously bad Zelda's Adventure game from the Phillips CD-i to Game Boy using a modified version of GBStudio. The port strongly resembles the original Link's Awakening and is playable on PC or any other platform that supports Game Boy emulation. This follows the unofficial remastered versions of the other two CD-i Zelda games, Faces of Evil and Wand of Gamelon, released in 2020.
