The Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS, despite its outdated tech, offers an exhilarating driving experience focused on pure driving pleasure, with minimal distractions and a powerful flat-six engine, making it one of the last of its kind before newer electric models take over.
Porsche has collaborated with Tag Heuer to create two custom-made 718 Cayman GT4 RS models as part of its Sonderwunsch program. The cars pay homage to the Carrera Panamericana rally race in Mexico and feature design elements inspired by the Porsche 550 Coupe. Painted in Le Mans Silver Metallic, the cars are distinguished by racing numbers and adorned with Mexican flag colors. One car includes a Tag Heuer stopwatch module, while the other will be auctioned for charity.
Porsche's GT division has unveiled the 2023 Cayman GT4 RS, which is hailed as the most visceral and capable Cayman ever produced and a strong contender for the best sports car on the market. Powered by a borrowed 493 hp flat-six engine from the latest 911 GT3, the GT4 RS boasts a 9,000 rpm redline and a top speed of 196 mph. It features aerodynamic enhancements, increased chassis rigidity, and improved braking, making it a standout performer. While an electrified version of the Cayman is expected in the future, the GT4 RS ensures that the current era of the Cayman remains a force to be reckoned with.
Porsche has unveiled the 718 Spyder RS, the final 718 model with a combustion engine. The convertible sports car is essentially a Cayman GT4 RS with its roof removed and a manually operated fabric roof in its place. It is powered by a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter engine borrowed from the 911 GT3, producing 493 horsepower and 331 pound-feet of torque. The Spyder RS is available to order in Germany from €151,215 and will be offered to US buyers starting at $160,700 plus a $1,450 delivery fee.
