Guilford Co. Animal Shelter Halts Cat Intake Due to Virus Outbreak
Guilford County Animal Services has paused cat intake due to an outbreak of feline panleukopenia virus (FPV) among kittens. The shelter is quarantining 28 cats to prevent the virus's spread and has euthanized two severely affected kittens. The shelter, already near capacity, is urging the public to foster or adopt cats to help manage the situation.
