Amazon denies claims that its cashierless Just Walk Out technology is run by humans in India, stating that a machine learning model powers the system and human workers are only involved in annotating AI-generated and real shopping data to improve the system. The company also confirms that it is expanding its Dash Cart to third-party grocers and Amazon Fresh stores, as it found that customers prefer it in larger grocery stores. Additionally, Amazon plans to launch more small-format third-party Just Walk Out stores in 2024 and is working on improving the technology for larger stores.
