
"Whooping Cough Outbreak Hits Carlisle High School"
Carlisle High School in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, has confirmed an outbreak of pertussis, commonly known as whooping cough. Approximately 10 students have been diagnosed with confirmed cases since October 16. The infection is easily spread through coughing or sneezing and can cause a severe cough lasting for weeks or months. The school is taking measures to combat the spread and will notify families of students who came into close contact with infected individuals.
