Ukraine's Shipping Routes Adapt Amidst Black Sea Tensions
A cargo vessel has departed from a Ukrainian Black Sea port after loading, but has remained close to the port. This comes as part of Ukraine's establishment of a temporary "humanitarian corridor" along the coastline following Russia's decision to quit a deal that allowed safe Ukrainian exports. Several cargo ships are heading towards Ukrainian Black Sea ports for further food and steel exports, including the bulk carriers Azara, Ying Hao 01, and Eneida. The blockade of deep sea ports by Russia has already impacted Ukrainian grain exports, which have decreased by 51% in September compared to the same period last year.
