"Multiple Injuries as SUV Crashes into Attleboro Dispensary"

A SUV crashed into a cannabis dispensary in Attleboro, Massachusetts, injuring three people. An employee suffered injuries to his right forearm and ankle, a possible concussion, and was transported to the hospital. Another person inside the dispensary suffered lacerations to her head and lower back, as well as knee pain, and was also taken to the hospital. The driver of the SUV, a 62-year-old woman, sustained minor injuries. The building's structural integrity was assessed and deemed sound, and the crash is under investigation by Attleboro police.

"Western NC Reservation Embraces Legalization of Marijuana"

The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians reservation in western North Carolina has voted to legalize the possession of marijuana, with 2,464 people voting in favor and 1,057 voting against. New York's Conditional Adult-Use Retail Dispensary licensing program (CAURD) allows justice-involved people, who were previously convicted of marijuana-related offenses, and their family members to apply for licenses to become cannabis dispensary owners. The program was created to address the fallout for those most affected by the war on drugs, particularly people of color who accounted for 94% of pot-related arrests and summonses in the city in 2020. The CAURD program has faced pushback, but for those who have been incarcerated and now plan retail marijuana businesses after having obtained licenses, it's a new lease on life.
