Ohio's Impending Legalization of Recreational Marijuana: What You Need to Know
Recreational marijuana will become legal in Ohio on December 7th, but sales will not begin until at least the fall of 2024 due to the lengthy process of creating and implementing rules and regulations. The newly formed Cannabis Control Division will oversee the licensing process for cultivators, processors, and dispensaries. There will be a limited number of licenses available, categorized into three levels. The timeline for the rulemaking and licensing process is uncertain, as potential changes by Governor DeWine or state lawmakers could impact it.
