Jamaican Schoolchildren Hospitalized from Cannabis Candy Consumption
Over 60 elementary school students in Jamaica were hospitalized after consuming cannabis-laced candy, causing vomiting and hallucinations. The candy contained delta-8 THC, a psychoactive substance found in cannabis, and was not intended for use by anyone under 21 years of age. The children, aged 7 to 12, are not in critical condition, according to the Minister of Education and Youth. Jamaica decriminalized cannabis for adults over 18 in 2015.
