Netflix scraps Nancy Meyers' $150M rom-com over budget issues.
Netflix has cancelled Nancy Meyers' latest romantic comedy due to a budgeting disagreement. The streamer was willing to offer $130 million, but Meyers needed $150 million. The movie would have been Meyers' first in close to a decade and was set to star Scarlett Johansson, Penélope Cruz, Michael Fassbender, and Owen Wilson. Meyers' directorial features have generated over $1.3 billion worldwide, but Netflix's model doesn't care much for making money directly from the movies they produce.
