Nancy Meyers' Netflix rom-com cancelled due to budget issues.
Nancy Meyers and Netflix have ended their collaboration on a new romantic comedy due to budget disagreements. The streamer capped the budget at $130 million, while Meyers requested $150 million. The film, titled "Paris Paramount," would have starred Scarlett Johansson, Penélope Cruz, Michael Fassbender, and Owen Wilson. Meyers was set to write, direct, and produce the feature, which would have been her first directorial project in almost a decade. The plot would have chronicled a young writer-director who falls in love with a movie producer.
