"Worker Strikes Rock General Motors in Canada"
General Motors has reached a tentative agreement with Canadian union Unifor, ending strikes involving 4,300 workers at three facilities. The agreement includes wage hikes of up to 25% and addresses issues such as pensions and converting temporary workers into permanent employees. The strike threatened GM's full-size truck production. Work will resume at all three facilities, and the deal recognizes the contributions of employees with significant increases in wages, benefits, and job security. Unifor had set a deadline after earlier agreements with GM expired.
