"Sabres Trade Okposo to Panthers for Prospect and Pick, Acquire Sjalin"
The Buffalo Sabres have acquired defenseman Calle Sjalin and a conditional seventh-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft from the Florida Panthers in exchange for forward Kyle Okposo. Sjalin, 24, has three assists in 22 games this season with the Charlotte Checkers and was previously a fifth-round draft pick by the New York Rangers. Okposo, who played 516 games with the Sabres over eight seasons, was the team captain for the last two seasons and earned an NHL All-Star Game selection in 2016-17.
