Sabres Go All-In at Deadline, Keeping Alex Tuch
Buffalo Sabres are pushing for their first playoff berth since 2011 and won’t deal star winger Alex Tuch at the March 6 deadline, opting to add depth instead, as Elliotte Friedman notes. General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen is known for aggressive deadline moves, and while Tuch’s extension talks center around the high end of the market, the club believes keeping him through the deadline preserves its competitive window; if Tuch hits free agency, Buffalo would recalibrate cap space to re-sign RFAs like Zach Benson and pursue affordable upgrades.
