IRS extends tax deadline to Nov. 16 for most Californians, including storm victims
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has once again postponed the tax deadline for most Californians, extending it from October 16 to November 16. This is the third extension granted by the IRS, citing winter storms and federal emergency declarations as the reasons for the postponements. The relief applies to taxpayers in 55 out of California's 58 counties and includes both state and federal returns. The delay also affects quarterly tax payments, payroll returns, and contributions to IRAs and health savings accounts. Businesses and individuals in Lassen, Modoc, and Shasta counties are not affected by the extension.
