
Huntington Bancshares Completes Cadence Bank Merger, Broadening Texas and Southern Footprint
Huntington Bancshares closed its merger with Cadence Bank, expanding its presence across Texas and the South and becoming the eighth-largest bank in Texas and the top bank in Mississippi by deposits; the combined company holds about $279 billion in assets, $221 billion in deposits and $187 billion in loans as of December 31, 2025, with nearly 1,400 branches in 21 states, and Cadence’s 390 branches will be retained with customer conversions to Huntington's systems planned for mid-2026. Three former Cadence directors—Dan Rollins, Virginia Hepner, and Alice Rodriguez—joined Huntington's board.
