"BSO Sergeant Arrested for Drug Offenses at Miami International Airport"

Broward Sheriff’s Office sergeant Bryan Vidal Lorenzo was arrested at Miami International Airport after Customs and Border Protection officials found suspected MDMA in his luggage. He was charged with possession and importation of a controlled substance into Florida, and has been placed on administrative leave without pay. Lorenzo posted a $5,000 bond and was ordered to attend drug counseling.

Man Brutally Beats 63-Year-Old Over Movie Theater Seat Dispute

The Broward County Sheriff's Office is searching for a man who allegedly attacked a 63-year-old man at a movie theater in Pompano Beach, Florida, after being asked to switch seats. The victim, who had purchased VIP tickets, politely requested the suspect and a woman to move from their seats, but the suspect responded aggressively and physically assaulted the victim, causing him to fall down the stairs. The suspect and the woman fled the scene, while the victim was taken to the hospital with head and facial injuries. The BSO has released surveillance footage in hopes of identifying and apprehending the suspect.

Chad Smith appointed as new CEO of Boston Symphony Orchestra.

The Boston Symphony Orchestra (BSO) has named Chad Smith as its next president and CEO. Smith, who has spent more than two decades at the Los Angeles Philharmonic, will take over from Gail Samuel, who resigned in December 2021. Smith, who has overseen one of the country’s most dynamic orchestras, will now lead one of the so-called Big Five orchestras. The BSO is seeking new programming initiatives to expand its community reach as audience demographics and ticket-buying habits evolve.
