British Millionaire Kidnapped in Ecuador Rescued by Police
The kidnappers of British millionaire Colin Armstrong in Ecuador were found to have police uniforms and a dossier about him. Armstrong, along with his partner, was kidnapped from his farm near Guayaquil but was released after British intelligence officers assisted Ecuadorian detectives in their investigation. Seven men are being held on suspicion of kidnapping, while two others are held on suspicion of extortion. Police raids uncovered police clothing, weapons, ammunition, cell phones, drugs, and information related to the kidnapping. Armstrong's partner, initially thought to be a suspect, was later described as a victim. Security officials suspect the notorious Ecuadorian gang Los Tiguerones, with links to Mexican cartels, was behind the kidnapping.
