Harvard Scientist Links Strange Sound Over New England to UFO Explosion
A Harvard scientist has solved the mystery of a loud "boom" heard across several New England states on October 20. Avi Loeb, the Baird Professor of Science at Harvard, used mathematical calculations based on the amplitude and duration of the pressure wave to determine that the sound was likely caused by a meteor from the Orionid meteor shower, which peaked on October 21. The sound was detected by microphones at the Galileo Project observatory at Harvard University and was heard in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine.
