Voters Reject Multiple Bond Referendums in Cedar Rapids and Hinton
Voters in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, rejected a $220 million bond referendum aimed at redesigning, replacing, and renovating several facilities in the district. The majority of voters (61%) voted against the measure, which would have resulted in an increase in property taxes. The plan included improvements to middle schools, the construction of a new school, and additions to turf fields and career and technical education classrooms at various locations.
