Apple Patches Flipper Zero's iPhone Exploits

Apple has released iOS 17.2 with safeguards to prevent Flipper Zero devices from causing denial of service (DoS) loops on nearby iPhones and iPads. The open-source pen-testing tool, when modified with third-party firmware, could overwhelm devices with Bluetooth connection notifications, causing them to freeze and reboot. The new iOS update likely includes a request timeout to mitigate this exploit.

"Flipper Zero's iOS 17 Compatibility Causes iPhone Crashes"

Flipper Zero, a hacking tool, can still crash iPhones running the latest version of iOS 17 by spamming them with fake Bluetooth pop-ups until they crash. Despite multiple iOS 17 updates, Apple has not implemented safeguards to prevent this attack. The attack exploits a Bluetooth Low-Energy (BLE) pairing sequence flaw and can be performed by modifying the Flipper Zero's firmware. Currently, there is no realistic way to protect against this attack, and the only option is to disable Bluetooth. Apple has yet to acknowledge the flaw and address it.
