"Massive Bissell Vacuum Recall Issued Over Fire Hazard"
Bissell has recalled over 150,000 Multi Hand Reach and Floor vacuum cleaners due to a fire hazard caused by the potential overheating and smoking of the appliance's battery pack. The recall comes after 17 reports of the vacuum cleaners emitting a burning odor, with six incidents resulting in fires, causing minor property damage and injuries. Customers who purchased the affected products between August 2016 and December 2022 are advised to dispose of the vacuum cleaner and contact Bissell for instructions on depleting the battery and receiving a free replacement appliance.
