US Attorney Explains Why Hunter Biden Bribery Tip Warranted Further Scrutiny
Former US attorney Scott Brady, who vetted unverified claims about alleged Ukrainian bribes paid to the Bidens, testified to House lawmakers that he found some of the material credible enough to pass along to the prosecutor leading the Hunter Biden criminal probe. Brady acknowledged that his team never reviewed key evidence that undercut the bribery claims and did not determine whether the claims were true. While his testimony sheds new light on how his office vetted the tip, it does not support the GOP narrative that Joe Biden or his son Hunter Biden accepted a bribe. The FBI document, obtained by Congressional Republicans, describes an informant's claim that Ukrainian oligarch Mykola Zlochevsky spoke of paying $10 million in bribes to the Bidens, but the informant was unable to provide further opinion on the veracity of the claims. There is no evidence that Joe Biden was involved in Hunter Biden's work for Burisma or received payments tied to his son's foreign dealings.
