Record-breaking Day for Fifty S&P 500 Companies
On Tuesday, a tenth of the companies in the S&P 500 index experienced their best day of the year in terms of percentage change, as U.S. stocks rallied following flat inflation data for October. Several companies, including PG&E Corporation, Bank of America, BlackRock, and Home Depot, saw significant gains, with their stocks rising by 5% or more. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose by 490 points, or 1.4%, while the S&P 500 gained 1.9% and the Nasdaq Composite advanced 2.4%.
