Jules Tougna Tamen, 59, of Madison, turned himself in and was charged with hit-and-run resulting in death after allegedly striking and killing a woman running in the middle of the Beltline near Fish Hatchery Road. The incident occurred on Jan. 26, and Tougna Tamen left the scene, parking at his home about a mile away. His blue 2005 Lexus was found at his home, and he now faces up to 25 years in prison for the charges.

The Madison Police Department is searching for a suspect after a hit-and-run incident on the Beltline resulted in the death of a person just before 10:30 p.m. The vehicle, believed to be a blue 2003-2009 Lexus GX 470, was found in Madison on Saturday afternoon, and investigators are seeking information from the community. The victim was not hit while on the side of the road and was not inside a car at the time of the impact. The MPD does not suspect road rage to have played a role in the incident and urges anyone with information to contact them.
