Ukraine launched a broad drone attack on multiple Russian regions, including Moscow, Bryansk, and Belgorod. Moscow said many drones were shot down and Bryansk reported damage to energy infrastructure causing heat and power outages in parts of the region; authorities also imposed temporary flight restrictions around Domodedovo airport as the attacks continued.
The Freedom of Russia Legion, an anti-Putin armed group, claimed to have destroyed two tanks and two armored personnel carriers in the vicinity of the Shebekino checkpoint in Russia. The group used drones to carry out the attack. The Russian Volunteer Corps, another anti-Putin armed group, has also been involved in battles in Belgorod Oblast and offered to return captured Russian army soldiers as a goodwill gesture. The groups have advanced 42 kilometers into Russia and controlled some settlements in Belgorod Oblast for a day.
The Russian Volunteer Corps and the Freedom of Russia Legion claim to have captured Russian soldiers in Belgorod Oblast and have requested a meeting with the local governor to discuss the situation in the region and the future of Russia. They have invited the governor to a dialogue within the walls of a church in Novaya Tavolzhanka.
