
BBC and YouTube Strike Digital-First Content Deal
The BBC and YouTube have unveiled a landmark deal to produce original, digital-first BBC content tailored for YouTube's younger audience, which may also appear on iPlayer and Sounds; global ads outside the UK will help fund the venture, with the first content spanning entertainment, news and sport and kicking off with the Winter Olympics, plus a training programme led by the National Film and Television School to develop UK talent and grow BBC's YouTube presence to around 50 channels.
