Kentucky Counties Overcome Voting Machine Issues, Achieve Impressive Turnout
Voters in multiple Kentucky counties, including Madison County, have reported issues with ballot-marking machines during the recent election. Some voters who selected straight party Democrat were told by the machines that they had chosen straight party Republican. The problem appears to be related to touch screens and a recent software update. County Clerk Kenny Barger assured that the issue did not impact the election results, but acknowledged that the election process was not conducted as it should have been. The machines have been taken out of service, and efforts are underway to determine the exact cause of the problem.
