Balakrishna said that he considers it his good fortune to be born as son of NTR and that the birth centenary of NTR is being celebrated not just in Telugu states but across the world. NTR had floated TDP in 1982 on the slogan of Telugu self-respect and served as three-time chief minister of Andhra Pradesh.
Balakrishna did not personally invite Jr NTR to the NTR Centenary celebration, leading Jr NTR to consider sending a video message, which was also prevented by Balakrishna. Balakrishna and Chandrababu wanted Jr NTR to stay away from the event to focus solely on Chandrababu Naidu and were concerned about his political future.
Kalyan Ram follows in Jr NTR's footsteps by also not attending the NTR Centenary Celebrations, despite receiving an invitation. Sources claim that Balakrishna did not personally invite Jr NTR and preferred his absence at the event. Kalyan Ram is the only person in the Nandamuri family who maintains a strong bond with Jr NTR.

This was a calculated move by the Nandamuri-Nara families to make Jr NTR feel disregarded and to establish the narrative that they had officially invited him. Jr NTR may organize his own event in memory of his grandfather to show his political might.
