New Hampshire official resigns after Merrimack ICE facility controversy
New Hampshire Department of Natural and Cultural Resources commissioner Sarah Stewart resigned after failing to alert Gov. Ayotte and other state officials about DHS/ICE plans for a Merrimack immigrant detention facility. Acting commissioner Adam Crepeau will take over, while the Executive Council demanded accountability. Documents released in a right-to-know request showed state officials knew of the plan weeks earlier.
