Avett Brothers' Broadway Musical 'Swept Away' Ends After Brief Run
The Broadway musical 'Swept Away,' featuring songs by The Avett Brothers, will close on December 15 after a short run due to poor box office performance and mixed reviews. Despite a $14.5 million investment and a cast including John Gallagher, Jr. and Stark Sands, the show struggled with attendance, filling only 61% of the Longacre Theatre's capacity. This marks the second new musical of the fall season to close early, following the closure of 'Tammy Faye.'
