WWII Ship 'Dancing Mouse' USS Edsall Found After 80 Years
The wreck of the USS Edsall, a US warship sunk by Japanese forces during World War II, has been discovered in the Indian Ocean south of Java. Known for its evasive maneuvers, the Edsall was dubbed "the dancing mouse" by the Japanese. The ship, carrying 153 sailors and several army personnel, was found submerged in 18,000 feet of water near Christmas Island. The discovery was a joint effort by US and Australian officials, with the Australian naval support ship MV Stoker playing a key role in locating the wreck.
