Israel Takes Action to Remove Long-Term Cave Dweller on Beachfront
Nissim Kahlon, a 77-year-old man, has spent over 50 years transforming a small cave on a Mediterranean beach in Israel into an intricate underground labyrinth filled with mosaics and tunnels. However, the Israeli government has served him an eviction notice, claiming that the structure is illegal and poses a threat to the coastline. Kahlon, who has never received a building permit, argues that local authorities connected his cave to the electric grid decades ago and refuses to leave. A crowdfunding campaign has been launched to support his legal defense, while he continues to work on his artistic creation.
