Nissim Kahlon, a 77-year-old man, has spent over 50 years transforming a small cave on a Mediterranean beach in Israel into an elaborate underground labyrinth filled with chiseled tunnels and detailed mosaic floors. However, the Israeli government has served him an eviction notice, claiming that the structure is illegal and poses a threat to the coastline. Kahlon, who has never received a building permit, argues that local authorities connected his cave to the electric grid decades ago and refuses to leave. A crowdfunding campaign has been launched to support his legal defense.
