Dejaune Anderson, the mother of 5-year-old Cairo Jordan found dead in a suitcase in Indiana, has been arrested in Arcadia nearly two years after his death. An arrest warrant was issued for murder, neglect of a dependent resulting in death, and obstruction of justice. A second suspect, Dawn Coleman, was also arrested for neglect of a dependent resulting in death and obstruction of justice. Cairo died from vomiting and diarrhea that triggered dehydration, and the community came together to honor him.

Authorities in Arcadia are investigating a smash-and-grab theft at The Shops at Santa Anita Mall, where four male suspects wearing hoodies and masks used hammers to smash glass display cases and stole purses and watches. They fled the scene in a white Infinity sedan. No shots were confirmed to be fired, and no injuries were reported. Kiara Morant, who is accused of killing a 4-year-old girl by crashing a Jeep into an Arcadia day care, may take a plea deal after originally pleading not guilty. Morant was driving without a license at the time of the crash. Maleena Valdez's mother wants Morant to stay behind bars and for the day care to be held accountable. The day care has since installed safety measures to prevent future crashes.
