A fatal head-on collision occurred on the 210 Freeway in Arcadia when a sedan driven the wrong way crashed into another vehicle, resulting in one death and causing the closure of several eastbound lanes and heavy traffic delays.
An off-duty LAPD officer, identified as Baldemar Sandoval, died in a traffic collision on the 210 Freeway in Glendora after crashing into the back of a semi-truck. The semi-truck had become disabled in the third lane after stopping for approximately five minutes due to CHP conducting a separate traffic collision investigation ahead of him. The cause of the collision is still under investigation. The remains of the officer were escorted to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office by fellow officers on Saturday morning. Part of the 210 Freeway remained closed through 8 a.m. Saturday morning.
