SRAM's Apex AXS: Affordable Electronic Shifting in 12-Speed

SRAM has launched a new APEX AXS electronic groupset that is more affordable than its RED, Force and RIVAL counterparts, but is 1x-only and built in a road motif. The APEX groupset is compatible with both XPLR and Mullet platforms, and is a possible solution for road, gravel or tri bikes. The groupset is cross-compatible with other SRAM products, making it easy to mix and match road, gravel, MTB, 1x and 2x systems. The cost savings range from 15 to 25 percent off the cost of RIVAL.

SRAM's Apex groupset now offers 12-speed electronic and mechanical shifting options.

SRAM has launched its fourth tier Apex AXS groupset, which is a 12-speed electronic drivetrain option available in XPLR wide-range configuration with 10-36t, 10-44t and 11-44t cassettes. The groupset is one-by only (1x) and is compatible with hydraulic disc brakes only. SRAM has also introduced a 12-speed mechanical option for Apex, its first 12-speed mechanical shifting groupset for road bikes. The Apex Eagle AXS and Apex Eagle mechanical groupset options are compatible with a 50t or 52t largest sprocket cassette. The new groupset is heavily geared towards gravel bikes and offers features like standard 11-speed freehub compatibility and flat bar levers.
