Oral Surgeon Found Guilty of Murder in Girlfriend's Overdose
An oral surgeon in Maryland has been convicted of murder after his girlfriend died from an overdose of anesthetic drugs that he administered to her. The oral surgeon, James Ryan, set up an intravenous stand to supply the drugs to his girlfriend, Sarah Harris, who was found dead at his home. Prosecutors argued that Ryan showed an extreme indifference to Harris' life by continuously providing her with the dangerous drugs despite her deteriorating health. Ryan faces a maximum of 55 years in prison when he is sentenced.
