Binance under US investigation for violating Russian sanctions.
The US Department of Justice's national security and crime divisions are investigating Binance for allowing Russians to use the cryptocurrency exchange in violation of US sanctions. Binance is also facing accusations of AML and KYC violations. The company has stated that it is compliant with US and international sanctions and that its KYC protocols are in line with traditional banking. Binance is not the only crypto exchange to face sanctions violation scrutiny, with Poloniex recently paying a $7.6 million settlement for violating sanctions against several countries.
