Hospitals Stranded as Cybersecurity Incident Disrupts Ambulance Services
A potential cybersecurity incident in East Texas has caused a network outage at UT Health East Texas, leaving hospitals unable to receive ambulances without computers. Despite implementing downtime procedures, the hospitals have had to turn ambulances away. This incident adds to a growing list of cyberattacks that have disrupted hospitals in Connecticut, Florida, Pennsylvania, and Idaho over the past nine months. UT Health is conducting an internal investigation into the incident.
