For over a decade, American administrations have pushed Israel to expand the Allenby crossing’s operating hours to help shrink wait times. The crossing was once open nearly full-time, but for the past two decades, Allenby has only been open from 8 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. on weekdays and from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on weekends.
