GM Vidit Gujrathi defeated GM Hikaru Nakamura for the second time, GM Tan Zhongyi jumped back into the lead of the 2024 FIDE Women's Candidates Tournament, and GMs Ian Nepomniachtchi and Gukesh Dommaraju continue to lead the 2024 FIDE Candidates Tournament after round nine. GM Alireza Firouzja outplayed Nepomniachtchi but the game ended in a draw, and Tan Zhongyi defeated GM-elect Vaishali Rameshbabu to regain the pole position. Round 10 will be on Monday, April 15, with Nepomniachtchi facing Gukesh and Praggnanandhaa playing against Vidit.
