"Cabrini," a Buffalo-made movie about the life of Mother Francesca Cabrini, the first U.S. citizen to be canonized a saint in the Catholic Church, has made its big-screen debut nationwide. The biographical drama, starring Italian actress Cristiana Dell’Anna as Francesca Cabrini, is now showing in area theaters and will expand locally and nationally on March 8, International Women’s Day. The film features recognizable locations in Buffalo and an international cast including John Lithgow, Montserrat Espadalé, David Morse, and Giancarlo Giannini. Director Alejandro Monteverde's goal is to shine a light on Mother Cabrini's powerful story and continue her legacy.
