FAA Grants Airworthiness Certificate to Electric Flying Car Prototype
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has granted an airworthiness certificate to Alef Automotive, a California startup, for testing their flying car prototype called the "Model A." This fully electric vehicle is capable of both flying and traveling on roads, with vertical takeoff and landing capabilities. It can carry one or two occupants, has a road-range of 200 miles and a flying range of 110 miles. Alef Automotive plans to sell the vehicle for $300,000 each, with the first delivery expected by the end of 2025. While the FAA has issued the special airworthiness certificate, approval from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is still required for road use.
