Trump-appointed leaders unveiled the largest FAA reorganization in history, creating a Safety Oversight Office to implement a single safety management system, an Airspace Modernization Office to accelerate NAS upgrades, and an Advanced Aviation Technologies Office for drones and air mobility, while consolidating finance, IT, and HR under the administrator; backed by a $12.5 billion funding down payment and Flight Plan 2026, the plan aims to speed modernization, improve safety data sharing, and expand oversight with no staff reductions.
