The double-stacked economy airplane seats are back on display at the Aircraft Cabin Interiors Expo, with many global carriers expressing interest. The designer, Alejandro Núñez Vicente, assures that the partition behind the upper level of seats will prevent any gas from passing through. The lower row is designed to be more accessible than standard single-level economy seats, with the bottom cushion on every lower-level seat folding up to enable easier access. The seats are only designed to be installed on widebody planes currently, but the company's short-term goal is to make the double-decker seats similar in weight to two rows of standard economy class seats plus the overhead bin, which could make them more fuel-efficient.
